chess employment

We will match you with private students in your area. We also may have schools in your area which will begin chess programs. We will only insist on a few aspects of your way of working with the students, the teachers, staff, and parents. You will be otherwise free to design your own curriculum and teach it your way.

Full Time

This is often good for college students

You will want to have several schools.

Five schools will provide at least $250/week of extra income.

You must have a cell phone, car, and email access.

You will undergo a background check, and in some states a drug test. (At the schools expense)

Part Time

This option is for areas where there are not as many schools with enough students to make a program run.

Typical pay is $50/hour

Requirements :

Age 18+ rating (top grade in chess club+10 )*100 example in a school with up to 6 grade you need to be 1600 strength. If the highest grade is 8th then 1800.

For HS w/ 12th grade you should be 2200. If you are 300 points above the top rated student that will be fine. If you have the top rated kid at 1700 you can be 2000+.

You must not have felony convictions, or any history of crime that would concern the school, or a person allowing you into their home to teach their children.
